Somebody ought to testify and it might as well be me. First and foremost I give God ALL the glory for who He is and what He has done. About ten years ago, my daughter, Anyah was diagnosed with Epilepsy at age 2. Her first seizure was terrifying because you don't know what to do and to see your child in that state you feel so helpless. Needless, to say after many tests the neurologist put her on medication that she took twice a day everyday. She would still have seizures on the medication but maybe only two a year. Some seizures have caused her to be hospitalized and admitted into ICU.
The neurologist my daughter had seen since she was a toddler was about to retire. My daughter at this time was about 8 years old when she was transferred to another neurologist. The doctor seemed pretty cool at first until she came in and started changing my daughter's medication. This new medication (Kepra) she put my daughter on caused so MANY problems. Anyah for the next two years could not function in school and home. The side effects from this medication were absolutely horrible. It was as this medicine caused her to loose her mind, literally! She may have only had a seizure a year while on this medication but she could not function in her daily life.
I should have researched this medication before allowing the doctor to switch her medication but you live and learn. As I researched other patients that took this medication they were also having problems functioning in their daily lives and they were adults. God even allowed me to come across a woman that knew about this medication and told me she could not function as well as a child while being on this medication. Frustration began to set in as I was relaying my daughter's progress on this medication to the doctor and she would not consider putting her on another medication.
I began to pray and seek God. I even had my church members to pray along with me as well. I could not stand seeing my daughter go through another day, month or year in the state she was in. I made the decision to take my daughter off the medication and find another doctor. My daughter has been off the medication for a year now and she has not had a seizure. DO YOU HEAR ME? Anyah has not had a seizure in a year and she is thriving in school and at home. PRAISE GOD!!! I found a doctor who Anyah and I both love. He is awesome and he agreed that we should keep Anyah off medication if she is doing well. I stand and believe that "By His Stripes" my daughter is Healed!!!
Life around here has been so much peaceful and I am so glad to have my precious sweet daughter back to her normal self.! I owe it all to God!
What an amazing testimony! Sometimes we just have to go with our gut when things don't feel right.
